This shortcut to the Blackboard Virtual learning environment (VLE) will open in a new window.
The UHI Blackboard system requires that your browser be configured correctly. Use the link below to ensure that you have the required plugins and features installed or enabled. If you are using Blackboard on a college computer there is no need to do this compatibility test .
Test your own Computer for use with Blackboard (this will open in a new window)
Your computer should support Java as this is required by most Blackboard courses. Test to see which version of java you have installed by clicking on the link below. ( Latest version at Feb '09 is 1.6.0_12)
The first time Blackboard requires java it may appear to take a long time to load this part of the course, please be patient as it may take up to a minute to initialise. Once it has it will load as normal on subsequent use.
